Doctors who are members of the Bulgarian Medical Association (BMA) but do not have a specialization can now issue electronic white prescriptions through the eRx mobile application. To take advantage of this new functionality, they need to install the latest version 1.1.0 of the application on their mobile devices. Doctors working in Emergency Care will be able to issue prescriptions immediately during home visits.
The new version of eRx includes stability improvements and bug fixes reported by users in their feedback. For doctors using mobile devices with the Android operating system, the option for horizontal (landscape) screen orientation on tablets has been added, which iOS device users already have.
The eRx mobile application was developed by Information Services at the request of the Ministry of Health (MH) and launched in early March 2023. Through eRx, doctors who are members of the BMA can issue electronic prescriptions at any time and from any place. The issued prescription immediately appears in the patient's electronic health record and can be filled at any pharmacy.
The mobile application can be downloaded for free from the App Store or Google Play on all mobile devices used by the doctor. For mobile devices with the iOS operating system, a minimum OS version of 14 is required, and for devices with the Android operating system, the minimum version must be 9.
