Мedical commissions that review documents for reduced work capacity and issue medical expertise (TEMC decisions) will have full access to the health records of patients and all medical information in National Health Information System (NHIS). This was announced after a coordination meeting between Ministry of Electronic Governance, Ministry of Health, and Information Services. Starting next week, access will be provided to doctors from National Expert Medical Commission (NEMC) on a pilot basis, and from the beginning of April, all members of the labor-expert medical commissions in the country will have access to patient records.

“Providing access to patients' health records will allow expert commissions to drastically reduce the time for reviewing disability documents, and patients will no longer have to wait months for TEMC decisions," said Minister of Electronic Governance Valentin Mundrov. According to him, this will facilitate the work of the TEMC commissions and enable them to make timely and informed decisions about the health status of patients when reviewing the documentation. The innovations are also expected to reduce abuses in the issuance of TEMC decisions.

For the convenience of citizens, eZdrave mobile application will be updated next week with the addition of a Medical Expertise module in the health record of citizens. This way, patients will have access to all available documentation related to medical expertise certification – referrals from general practitioners, protocols from the Medical Consultative Commission (MCC), applications, decisions of the TEMC commissions, and more. Currently, the documents can be accessed through the NHIS portal at my.his.bg. Through the application, citizens will receive notifications about the movement of submitted documents, scheduled commission meeting dates, issued TEMC decisions, and more.
